Smartstrand ChallengeA rhino living on carpet for two weeks? It's the SmartStrand Challenge! The most extraordinary carpet went up against the fiercest of beasts. Mohawk SmartStrand made with DuPont Sorona renewably sourced polymer was installed in the enclosure of a rhinoceros at the Birmingham Zoo in Alabama. Mohawk and DuPont broadcast it live from the home of Ricko, a 12 year old, 2,800 pound Black Rhinoceros. Ricko lived on Mohawk SmartStrand Carpet for two weeks until a crew came in to clean the carpet and see how it withstood the elements of a rhino. The carpet survived!
